Batman:Arkham Asylum

Rocksteady Studios is developing Batman:Arkham Asylum based on DC Comic's Batman. The game will be published by Edios Interactive & Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. The game will be based on the almost 70 year running comic books, as opposed to most other Batman games which are adaptations of mediabesides the comic material. The game will run on the Unreal Engine 3, as a single player, under the Action/Detective genre. Gameplay is said to rival that of the closed gameplay atmosphere of Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay, and a story style reminisant of of Bioshock with the depth and twists. Gameplay looks somewhat similar to Resident Evil 4's over the shoulder third person perspective
During battle, a combo multiplier at the top of the screen will increase with every strike. As the combo is completed a colony of bats will swirl around Batman and then contribute to an experience bar, then points can be distributed to a skill tree system much like an RPG. Strenghening Batmans attacks.
There are sections that invlove "Predatory" gameplay which is stealth-like, in which Batman can use distractions with bodies and victims' yells and can then stalk the guards as they inspect. Another feature from the developers is the "Detective" style of play which has CSI-like fonrensic puzzles to use with Batmans gadgets!
















Character are listed as: Batman, The Joker, Commissioner James Gordon, Barbara Gordon/Oracle, KillerCroc, The Riddler, Bane, Harley Quinn, Mr. Zsasz, The Panguin, Mr. Freeze, The Scarecrow, Poison Ivy, & Two Face.

The story will begin by Paul Dini (Batman: the Animated Series, Detective Comics) and Mark Hamil will reprise his role of voicing The Joker as he did in the Animated Series!
